817 Broadway Commercial Development |
A turn-of-the-century Renaissance-Revival commercial building was completely restored to increase its leasing value in a prime location just south of Union Square. Loci led the consulting team in the analysis and detailing of the street level limestone façades, modified and rebuilt for modern retail considerations. At the upper floors, new insulated large-paned windows offer expansive views of the neighborhood to the north and east. The beautiful ornate brick facade and terracotta cornice were stabilized and a complex roof assembly detailed to create a new terrace with stunning views of the city. As a testament to our efforts, the Landmarks Preservation Commission subsequently designated the building with individual landmark status. |
