Yellow Couch Music, helmed by drummer, musician, and producer Layton Weedeman, is a collaborative music project that brings together a diverse collective of like-minded musicians and artists. At its core, Yellow Couch Music embodies Layton's vision of community and culture, seamlessly blending elements of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, rock, and world music.
Experimenting with sound and rhythm, Layton takes the lead in writing, arranging, and recording his musical ideas. He then handpicks artists who best complement each part of the song, creating a unique and dynamic sound. Based in NYC, Yellow Couch Music extends its reach globally, inviting artists from around the world to collaborate and contribute their unique talents to the project. Through this collaborative approach, Yellow Couch Music seeks to create music that transcends boundaries and celebrates the rich diversity of musical expression.
Layton is a member and co-founder of the bluesy-psychedelic alt-rock band, Courtesy Tier, and has released albums with the independent label, Beverly Martel, and publishing company, IAMSOUND. Layton is also a partner in the Cuban Troubadour project, POVEDA.
